  There is one very unhappy review on this church from "Deep Pockets". I disagree fully with what he has to say. This church has been my home since I was born and everyone in it is like family to me. If you are looking for a religious home free of judgement then this is the place you are looking for.

  YOU SHOULD AVOID THIS "CHURCH"! IT IS A TOTALITARIAN CULT WHICH IT IS FULL OF HYPOCRITES AND PLASTER SAINTS, THEIR ONLY PURPOSE IS TO GET TO YOUR MONEY. THESE PHARISEES SPECIALIZE ON HARASSING GAYS, IMMIGRANTS AND DISABLED PERSONS BY OFFENDING, CHASING, THREATENING AND SHOUTING AT THEM. AMONG HARASSERS THERE IS RHOD ZIMMERMAN, 79 YEARS, Birthdate:April 24, 1934, WHO LIVES IN WEST HILLS, LOS ANGELES. HE IS ALWAYS BOTH VERBALLY AGGRESSIVE AND ABUSIVE. HIS BEHAVIOR IS UNACCEPTABLE BY A UNANIMOUS VOTE OF MANY PEOPLE WHO LEFT THIS CHURCH BECAUSE OF HIM.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies"(John 8:44).

  I have felt welcome since I first stepped foot on this property. I was greeted warmly and invited to have breakfast after the service. Everyone has been supportive, generous, loving, and thoughtful. I love that I have found my spiritual community/home here at Emerson. The congregation is warm, accepting, and a force for positive change. They fight for social justice. I encourage anyone who has been wounded by a previous religious experience to try Emerson. This is also a welcoming congregation, meaning it went through training and openly accepts gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered individuals. Everyone is welcome and safe here.
